title-Senior Director of Strategy
Reports to Chief Executive Officer
Job Purpose
Senior Director of Strategy will be responsible for providing value to the
Company's investment strategy by driving portfolio strategy development and
supervising investment process for successful completion of the overall
investment goals.
He or she will not only broaden Company's horizon by building external
partnerships with local and global partners but also provide comprehensive
insight on investment opportunities and challenges in support of the CEO.
Duties and Responsibilities
[Strategy / Portfolio
Development]
•
Obtain extensive knowledge on unmet medical needs for infectious diseases in
developing countries and public health guidelines such as WHO¡¯s
• Understand both public health and industrial
interests to build mutually benefitable investment opportunities
• Establish short, mid & long term investment and
portfolio strategy and execute such strategy upon approval from the board
• Support the CEO to obtain endorsement for the
foundation¡¯s investment/portfolio strategy from the
governance groups and stakeholders
[Investment Management]
• Develop RFP and supervise investment making process
in the need of the Company's strategy
• Lead operations of the Selection Committee and
external evaluations
• Initiate, plan and lead key investment meetings such
as annual investment forum and partnering sessions in collaboration with the
operations team
• Proactively work with awardees in terms of project
and result management in order to bring outcomes to patients
[Broadening Partnerships]
• Keep the foundation's management and partners up to
date regarding dynamics in R&D and global needs
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders and
oversee communications with respect to strategy
• Collaborate with international Product Development
Partners to create/revisit strategy and facilitate collaborations and plan for
result management
• Consult awardees to solve emerging challenges and
opportunities in their projects and to generate tangible outcomes.

• Supervise the investment team
• Lead the team effectiveness and cohesiveness by
setting and communicating clear expectations on deliverables, roles and
responsibilities
• Deputize for the Chief Executive Officer of the
Company during his/her absence
Qualifications
• A minimum of 15 years experiences in research,
project management or business development, or combined role in life science
industry(vaccine/drug/diagnostics)
o Bachelor degree and above in Science / public health would be a plus
• Commitment to the mission of promoting global public
health and health equity
• Experience in a leadership role with a proven track
record
• Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial skills
with emphasis on innovative thinking including strategic and operational aspects
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational,
analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication and building networks with
local and international groups of scientists
• Must be fluent in English (All tasks will be carried
out in English, Fluent Korean is a plus.)
