Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of industry experience in technical support, professional services, engineering, sustaining engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Experience developing web applications and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JVM Hotspot, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing internal or client-facing projects to completion, architecting technical solutions, and working with engineering teams, sales, services, and customers.
  • Experience in mobile or device/application development.
  • Experience with the Android stack (e.g., Apps, OS, Kernel/Hardware).
  • Experience with front-end development in a partner-facing tool.
  • Understanding of mobile or devices ecosystem trends.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently.

The Wear OS Partner Engineering team works with the Wear OS device ecosystem to extend the boundaries of the Android platform. The team works in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and is engaged with original equipment manufacturer (OEMs), carriers, chipset manufacturers, and original device manufacturer (ODMs) across the globe. Our aim is to ensure devices are secure, up-to-date, and make Wear OS the platform of choice with consumers and OEM partners.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer in the Wear OS Partner Engineering team, you will focus on building infrastructures or programs for Wear OS partner ecosystem. You will be the point of contact for managing key OEM, designing, development, debugging, and launching key partner projects.

Responsibilities

  • Improve Wear OS product excellence by understanding the Android and device ecosystem, and building integrated tools.
  • Perform implementation reviews, advocate for product features, and ensure the prompt/proper resolution of technical challenges.
  • Build partner-facing infrastructure to scale partner and their device management. Improve product feature offerings by providing partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management, Business Development, and Engineering.
  • Provide documentation and technical guidance to ensure the technical aspects of a partner’s integration.
  • Scale and expand Wear OS integrations with carriers and operators.
