Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with mobile application development or Android framework development.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Korean fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building full-stack Android applications, ranging from building user interfaces to low-level Android libraries.
  • Experience in API design, performance optimization, customer architecture, or tools in the mobile space.
  • Expertise in leading technical teams in Android framework development
  • Knowledge of the Android SDK performance tools and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent leadership with influencing skills, and ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems.

As a Software Engineering Technical Lead, you'll lead a team of Android software engineers to work on the Wear OS platform. You will work with a larger team of engineers, and product/project managers to architect, design, and develop amazing features for Wear OS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of high impact Android engineers and work with a larger team of engineers, product/project managers to architect, design, and develop features targeted for Wear OS.
  • Work closely with our system on chip (SoC) and Hardware Development Partners on maximizing Power, Functionality, and Performance on current and future products.
  • Work cross-functionally with other Google teams to enable Google's services and experiences on the Wearable surface.
  • Collaborate with key partners to support feature development and device launches. Enhance product quality, and resilience, through excellent development processes and practices.
  • Help to grow the team, and lead and mentor team members to scale the Wear OS platform, and ecosystem. Participate in feature planning, work distribution, and execution.
