Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Law, JD, comparable law degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admission to the bar or authorized to practice law (e.g. registered in-house status) in the area in which the role is located.
  • 4 years of experience within the regulatory, intellectual property, media, or technology areas.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to be organized and to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • Ability and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters from the complex to the routine/standard.
  • Excellent discussion and agreement drafting skills.

You'll advise the business on its activities in Korea, including key legal risks and strategies, and work closely with legal team members to roll out products, discuss key agreements, and manage regulatory challenges and litigation.

  • Conduct legal reviews of internal products, marketing, and sales initiatives, and respond to various legal requests from Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and other functional groups.
  • Manage regulatory matters and litigation.
  • Advise management and cross-functional project teams in Asia Pacific and the United States with regard to potential legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws across all aspects of Google’s operations in Korea.
  • Discuss and draft a variety of commercial agreements.
  • Work with external legal counsel on specific matters ranging from litigation to expert advice requests.
