Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in partner management, business development, or marketing.
  •  Ability to speak and write in Korean and English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the music or entertainment industry and initiating and managing artist, management, or label relationships/campaigns.
  • Understanding of technological concepts, financial models, and music copyright.
  • Understanding of local trends, music culture, and digital media.
  • Understanding of advertising and subscription businesses.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly creative environment while working independently and on a team.
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and externally while managing competing priorities and under time constraints.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

In this role, you'll run programs with artists, artist management companies, record labels, and aggregators as you are working cross-functionally with colleagues in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, PR, and Legal to ensure our partners are positioned for success and our users enjoy the best experience possible.

You will initiate and manage day-to-day operations and partner relationships, fielding and prioritizing incoming requests, troubleshooting partner systems around reporting, content management and Content ID, and creating periodic reports (external and internal) on partner performance.

You will create long-lasting relationships with stakeholders in the music industry to renew existing partnerships, and to optimize potential opportunities. You will cultivate these partnerships to make sure they can take full advantage of YouTube's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Discuss agreements with Korean music partners (e.g., labels, publishers/collection societies, management companies, etc.).
  • Coordinate and align cross-functional stakeholders to support initiatives and gain internal consensus on agreement structures.
  • Provide ongoing partner management (e.g., business performance review, consultation, education, mentoring, etc.).
  • Represent YouTube to Korean music industry bodies.
