Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience working on camera related work
  • Experience coding in C/C++
  • Software development experience for mobile phone, tablet, or embedded system

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Camera HAL infrastructure
  • Experience in development of drivers
  • Experience with Unix/Linux platform on Android
  • Experience with Camera Sensors, ARM, and/or other low-power SoC architectures

The Android and Pixel Camera team is a collection of sub-teams organized around different parts of the camera stack, with some teams focused on Pixel specifically and some focused on the wider Android ecosystem.

We build the reliable camera software architecture, running below android camera public APIs and bring the innovative software features on the Pixel phones that leads the entire Android ecosystem. We design and develop Google ISP software that performs best image quality, as well as consumes least power and memory for camera system health. We're a team that's passionate about building the best camera experiences to delight our users, partnering with teams across Google.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate new features, and optimize performance topics like memory and power for product excellence.
  • Develop Camera System software and kernel across different platforms.
  • Perform prototype ISP software to evaluate and validate ISP hardware, and deliver camera drivers to interact with hardware components and image processor.
  • Work on camera software stacks including camera framework, camera HAL, and low level driver control.
  • Collaborate with Hardware teams on camera module bring-up.
