The Medical Affairs Review and Approval Expert (MARA) is the Medical expert responsible for the medical review and approval of all promotional and non-promotional materials across BU¡¯s in accordance with market regulations and company policies.
The MARA actively provides scientific expertise and support to cross-functional teams in executing strategies and plans in support of their product portfolios. The MARA is a key contributor to the development of brand plans and in the adjudication process, associated with complaints/defence against complaints regarding promotional claims.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and/ or approval of promotional/ non-promotional materials across BUs in compliance with local regulations and global/ local procedures thru the relevant systems (MLR review & approval in GCMA)
Ensure scientific accuracy of claims, references & translations and ensure alignment with local product label.
Contribute to ensure local content promotional compliance
Collaborate closely with the relevant cross functional colleagues across BUs to ensure a streamlined approach
Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs and commercial and content generation stakeholders
Meaningfully contribute to cross-functional teams in: 1. the development of promotional materials at various stages of development. 2. formulating the response to any code complaints or formulation of complaints against competitors. 3. the development brand plans and PoA meetings as appropriate
Serves as the subject matter expert for adherence of promotional content with local laws and industry codes as applicable.
Provides input into development of relevant policies, SOPs and Work Instructions.
Serves as a principal contact for audit and inspection teams in relation to compliance of promotional materials with applicable regulations, codes and company policies.
Contribute to new innovative solutions to improve scientific content review and approval process and to resolve problems based on comprehensive business & scientific knowledge
Actively contribute to resolving issues related to the day-to-day work, proposes recommendations and drives implementation of required changes, new processes, etc.
Contribute to strategic partnerships with relevant cross-functional teams with a view to sustaining, and identifying new ways for Medical to add value to the Pfizer business
QUALIFICATIONS:
Major in medicine, pharmacy or science with an appropriate life science major preferred. Degrees from other relevant disciplines also considered.
More than 2 years¡¯ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a Medical Information, Medical Affairs or related function.
Well versed in reviewing promotional materials & the promotional complaints process.
Demonstrates excellent collaboration, interpersonal & relationship management skills with ability to influence and negotiate outcomes. Experience working in cross-functional teams highly preferred
Ability to work in a virtual work environment
Proficient at critically evaluating literature and writing/summarizing clinical and scientific data
Exhibits strong analytical, oral and written communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
Effectively deals with ambiguity and adapts quickly to change
Demonstrates initiative and works independently on complex projects
Fluency in English preferred
