Retail Training Manager

Training Strategy and Planning

  • Partner with Management on appropriate training roadmap that supports our business strategy.
  • Manage the long-term planning, annual profit planning and budgeting process to ensure in fostering key capabilities required for our growth plans through retail training and development.
  • Plan retail development conversations and actions to ensure we have the right people and capabilities for the future.
  • Evaluate and recommend internal or external learning resources to support the retail development plans.
  • Ensure the training team implementing robust training programs, assessment and qualifications systems to develop product expertise, service, selling and clienteling skills, improve store efficiencies, drive retail excellence, optimizing sales professionals productivity as well as brand loyalty, and market share growth.

Retail Training and Development

  • Manage and deliver product/ sales training on all product categories including selling /client development for stores, region-wide training, merchandise launches, on-boarding, and follow-up newcomer orientation.
  • Identify training requirements of the business through partnering with retail and relevant teams.
  • Update training materials by reflecting the global strategy for new products and updated items in timely manner.
  • Provide coaching and information resources for sales employees to develop selling skills and enhance sales potential.
  • Responsible for effective and efficient (internal or external) program management and delivery including Induction programs for new staff, new store opening training, sales, service, products, clienteling programs.                                                                 
  • Provide post-training follow up program/skill building tools to store leaders to ensure training effectiveness including coaching.

Cross-functional projects

  • Provide training support and coaching to relevant teams and stores on company initiatives and selling events such as Client events, High Jewelry events and store promotions.
  • Partner with Sales team for MSP and VOC programs to escalate selling skills and improve necessary skillsets/ client development.
  • Closely collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing and Sales to ensure training contents to the market¡¯s product focus, sales trends, insight, and brand messaging.

Team Management

  • Create an inclusive culture that inspires all team members by demonstrating all forms of diversity.
  • Explore opportunities for team members to engage and learn
  • Lead and guide Training team to identify training and development needs within the organization and devising training strategies that aligned with business objectives

  • At least 10 years of training experience and 5 years of managerial experience in luxury retail business (Jewelry business is preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing diversity
  • Strong consultative, coaching, communication, and influence skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in training and facilitation skills
  • Excellent influence, interpersonal communication, problem solving, follow up and creative solution generation skills
