Companion Animal  Product Manager

1. PURPOSE OF POSITION/ROLE

¡¤        Maximize sales opportunities of designated products with diverse insight through implementation of marketing strategies, operational planning, and utilization of resources to meet the company objectives

¡¤        This position is responsible for the management and performance of the designated product by developing strategies with conventional and MCM that will differentiate the product with competitive advantages based on clear understanding of the corporate objectives and the animal healthcare environment.

¡¤        Accurately forecast demand for Company products

 

 

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountabilities

¡¤        Maximize sales of assigned products throughout the product life cycle

¡¤        Implement distribution strategies to increase profitability and efficiencies of customers and company

¡¤        Responsible for effective preparation of promotional materials for launching, sale promotion and campaigns of existing and new products (including PR and media relations)

¡¤        Monitor the company inventory to maintain appropriate level of inventory and to avoid any stock-out and high inventory (write offs)

¡¤        Monitor effectiveness of sales tools to insure efficiencies

¡¤        Support BU marketing manager when developing/implementing seminars/trade shows

¡¤        Order product from HQ based on accurate forecasting and re-ordering in a timely and effective matter to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory

 

Financial Performance

¡¤        Contribute to achievement of the company budget and profitability

¡¤        Implement product launch as scheduled to achieve company operating target

 

Allocation of Resources

¡¤        Effectively allocate personal time (and part time support) to focus on activities that have maximum benefit to the Company¡¯s results

¡¤        Allocate promotional resources (incentives, promotional goods, services) to maximize cost effectiveness, return on investment

¡¤        Effectively manage vendors supplying sales promotional goods and services

¡¤        Monitor sales team to insure proper allocation of promotional resources

 

Strategies & Policies

¡¤         Support development of the marketing strategy and assess opportunities for assigned products to meet sales forecasts

¡¤         Support development and implement promotional plans of designated products to meet sales forecasts

¡¤         Forecast sales of designated products considering the company profitability, competitiveness and objectives

 

Multi-Channel Marketing

¡¤         High level understanding of what the multi-channels are and how they can drive commercial objectives

¡¤         Common Insight and experience across the business such as Video Detailing, eDetail, Webinars/Webcasts, eCME, Online and Mobile Promotion, tactic,

¡¤         Confidently identify potential channels for different customer types, brand and market situations

 

Cross Functional Coordination

¡¤        Closely cooperate with sales team to improve accuracy of forecasts

¡¤        Coordinate with sales team to validate competitiveness of new products during launch preparation phase

¡¤        Seek out feedback from sales team (and customers) on the effectiveness of sales tools

¡¤        Insure that all promotional literature receives approval of Technical Service and Regulatory

¡¤        Coordinate product training activities with training manager and technical service managers

¡¤        Share information on the status of inventory to maintain minimum level of inventory with sales team leaders and marketing manager

 

Performance Evaluation and Compensation

¡¤        Give feedback to training manager and sales team leaders after providing product training to sales team

 

Customer Relations

¡¤        Visit customers (in coordination with ASRs & DMs as necessary) to identify their needs and market trends

 

Market information

¡¤        Gather and analyze market information and Zoetis product feedback obtained from sales team, CSRs and customers

¡¤        Based on (local and global) information from TSMs regarding product comparisons, clinical trials and case studies, incorporate into sales tools for existing and new products

¡¤        Provide reports to the CA BU marketing manager on positioning of the company products, competitors¡¯ activities, customers¡¯ needs and trends

¡¤        Execute customer and market surveys together with sales team or third parties and feedback results to relevant individuals

¡¤        Verify that new products meet customers¡¯ needs

¡¤        Monitor and collect Zoetis product feedback including adverse events

 

Communication

¡¤        Periodically report the market information to CA BU marketing manager

¡¤        Periodically report the sales forecast and inventory to CA BU marketing manager

¡¤        Immediately report any urgent, important issues to CA BU marketing manager with appropriate solutions and / or alternatives

¡¤        Respond to inquires on marketing issues from sales department in a timely and efficient manner

 

  

3. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

¡¤        Education: 4-year university or advanced degree

¡¤        Experience: 5+ years of marketing experience,  

¡¤        License: Veterinarian and/or MBA preferred, not required

¡¤        Languages Skill: Native Korean, excellent reading, writing, speaking in English

¡¤        Presentation: Excellent presentations and public speaking skills

¡¤        Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of animal health products and customers

¡¤        Business Knowledge: Good business sense and understanding of interdisciplinary areas, including sales, finance, operations, human resources, etc.

¡¤        Leadership: Strong ability to lead and motivate on an individual and team level

¡¤        Network: Key contacts across the industry and customer base preferred
