The Communications Specialist will contribute to the overall development and implementation of the Boeing Korea Communications Plan.

Reporting to the Korea Communications Manager, this position will contribute towards Boeing Korea¡¯s branding/communications strategies tailored to support enterprise and/or business unit goals and objectives. The role will be hands-on, collaborating day-to-day with the local leadership team and other critical businesses/functions including our global Boeing Communications team, Boeing Global, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, and Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The selected individual will support the development of plans and tactics to connect target audiences with strategic business objectives and goals while positively impacting Boeing business results, policies, or employee and/or leadership initiatives.

The role will be expected to leverage and build media and stakeholder networks, tuning in to current industry events to ensure Boeing messaging is accurately and appropriately delivered. The role will promote stories to local, national and trade media and handle media inquiries as a spokesperson for Boeing Korea.

The selected individual will contribute to production of content for Boeing internal and external communications channels, as well as co-marketing activities on various platforms including social media, website, print, and video.

The selected individual will be expected to utilize advanced techniques and platforms as guidance for internal and external communications and branding.

Qualified candidates will be organized, detail orientated, self-motivated, with capabilities to work under pressure as a positive and value-adding teammate.

This individual will have an appreciation for not only the aerospace industry but also for innovative and advanced technologies. Candidates with a deep understanding of the Korean media landscape and social media space are preferred.

Technical Competencies:

Digital Presence Enhancement: Ability to produce and coordinate targeted content for sponsored and organic social media, company website, print, photos, and video utilizing internal resources.

Advertising/Brand Management: Knowledge of advertising and brand management principles, practices, and trends.

Communications Planning: Ability to create and execute communications plans with clear objectives, strategies, and tactics.

Customer Knowledge: Knowledge of techniques to help identify a customer's organization, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, problems, and other constraints in order to provide effective product support and technical issue resolution.

Editing Fundamentals: Knowledge of written editing processes, practices, techniques, editing marks, reference materials, and tools.

Marketing Materials and Media: Demonstrates an expert understanding of the types and applications in variety of marketing media. Understanding of on-line marketing, and the application of various types of media. Has understanding and the ability to synthesize communication theory and proactive, both verbal and visual. Ability to articulate and gain support for new creative direction and designs. Be able to write creative briefs that clearly articulate creative direction and measures of success in order to inform internal and external resources. Be able to develop, apply and teach creative principles to others.

Media Relations: Knowledge of media industry behaviors, expectations, and requirements.

Professional Writing: Ability to write clear, compelling content. Ability to apply knowledge of fundamental writing skills to various communication materials such as news releases, news and feature articles, promotional materials, brochures, web communications, and presentations.

Promotion & Positioning: Demonstrates an understanding of the formulation of multifaceted, strategic marketing or positioning campaigns. Understanding of target identification, channel strategy, partner marketing, and deployment strategy. Good understanding of B2B (business-to-business), B2G (business-to-government) and B2C (business-to-customer) promotion methods. Knowledgeable in emerging marketing trends, other industry approaches, new tools and channels. Ability to create integrated plans using the full marketing mix of PR, web, advertising, branding, marketing research, event marketing, partner marketing and promotion.

Speech Writing Knowledge: Knowledge of speech writing theory, practices, and techniques to help speakers deliver compelling oratory. Apply knowledge of the style, personality, and intent to craft speeches that are sincere, authentic, and effective.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must be eligible to work in Korea

Fluent English and Korean and excellent writing and dictation skills

Ability to travel

Excellent organizational skills, effective multi-tasking ability, and able to meet tight deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office application

3-5 years professional experience in related role preferred

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education experience (e.g. Master +4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.)

This is for an international, locally hired position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.
