Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

  • DRIVE category business success within guidelines set by Global BUs

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Influence and implement strategic category direction for adidas Sportswear Apparel category & be responsible for the business success of it incl. building country product range and setting forecasts, local prices, size range, RID and tracking of Sell-through data.
  • Be the Korean market & consumer expert for Sportswear Apparel category and category interface between Global BU, Market functions, and channels (business opportunities, commercial input process, SMU¡¯s, performance results, market trends/insights,

category plans, etc.)

  • Define the category range by main channel within guidelines by Global BU and Market Planning team, incl. inline, promo, SMU, Local Creation
  • Define channels allocation for global allocated products
  • Perform Category analysis including sell-thru, forecasting, range adoption incl. global mandatory range, pricing corridor compliance, monthly flow, Average Retail Price, Go-in margin, etc.
  • Responsible for sample ordering for categories in charge
  • Manage samples (i.e. checking and displaying at showroom) in cooperation with Market MOPS
  • Leverage GTMT analysis & competitors/market information to set price bands (standard margin based on average price)
  • Monitor systems and file management for categories in charge: Master Range File, Range adidas Own

Product merchandising systems (M-3, Hublight) 

  • Work closely with Brand Communications / Activation teams on seasonal category brand calendar and its local execution
  • Contribute to the development of business Mid – Long Term division plan in alignment with global vision

  • Advanced user of MS Office suite of products
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to translate and articulate data results into clear business actions.
  • Fluent communication skills in both English and Korean
  • Strong presentation/communication, negotiation and influencing skills, especially with senior stakeholders within a global matrix organization.
  • Strong cross-functional and stakeholder management experience across commercial functions (e.g. marketing, sales, etc.) and support functions (finance preferred), as well as different organizational levels (Global, Market, etc.)

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of product merchandising or retail merchandising experience with a recognized top tier brands.
  • Experience in Product creation process (incl. SMU creation) preferred.
  • University degree in Business/Marketing Management preferred.
  • Sporting goods industry experience preferred.
