The Impact You¡¯ll Make

Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. Obtains materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., Just in Time purchases, use of EOQ - Economic Order Quantities). Resolves discrepancies. Creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprisewide systems. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized. Develops specifications for new contract orders. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards. Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. Evaluates vendor reliability and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.

What You¡¯ll Do

  • Define and monitor supplier performance metrics
  • Evaluate supplier performance
  • Benchmark supplier performance with industry standards
  • Identify risks associated within the selected supplier base
  • Drive continuous supplier process and performance improvement related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, Supplier Managed Inventory) capacity planning and manufacturing strategies
  • Ensure internal/external customer needs are met
  • Encourage supplier involvement in highly technical / contractually complex new product part designs using the suppliers¡¯ expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability
  • Work with engineering and the supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure on time delivery of critical material

  • Business or Supply Chain Bachelor¡¯s degree - required
  • Business, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering Advanced degree - preferred

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ¡®On-site Flex¡¯ you¡¯ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ¡®Virtual Flex¡¯ you¡¯ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
