MKS Atotech, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, equipment and software used in the printed circuit board, semiconductor and connector industries, has an immediate opening for a 2024 Summer Graduate Intern who can work with our engineer and external customers to uncover and solve the difficult problems that lead to innovative and valuable new chemicals and technologies in Semiconductor Business Unit.
Graduate Student Program Overview-
- 8 week summer internship program for advanced degree students in Master’s or PhD programs. This program will provide students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends

Responsibilities Include:
- Designs, develops, and implements efficient methods to test plating processes and tools/devices and solve problems to support central/local application.
- Obtains surface treatment technology expertise for MKS Atotech chemical products and its application.
- Performs trouble shooting, modification, testing and analysis using chemical products and plating devices/tools based on the customer’s understanding.
- Understands the characteristics and improvements of the developed product, realize the plating technology experimentally by using engineering backgrounds.
- Performs quality improvement work to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Identify the cause of problems that occur during testing and suggest solutions.
- Writes a technical report and documents on the evaluation and communicate with customers or internal development engineers.
What You Bring to the Team: (Required Skills)
- Enrolled in a master’s or PhD Degree program in chemistry/material engineering or relevant majors with an expected graduation date between August 2024-August 2025 or later
- Preferred engineering experience: Semiconductor process technology, understanding of PCB/IC substrate materials, plating process & relevant surface treatment technology, plating chemical development, and Analytical instruments/devices skills like SEM/EDX, Microscope, Profiler, Reliability, CVS, Titration, etc.
- Good English communication skills are preferred.
It is also Nice if You Have: (Preferred Skills)
- Experience with chemical testing equipment or software
