¡ß Work Description
- This position requires focusing on short-term duties with immediate communication, rather than carrying out a long-term writing process.
- Polish, edit, and re-write translated in-game text and voiceover scripts to engage and resonate with an English-speaking audience.
- Analyze lore (synopsis) provided by game designers, offering suggestions on its appeal to Western (North American) audiences, narrative structure, character voice, tone, and more.
- Collaborate with the localization team to discuss the game¡¯s lore and gather feedback.
- Enhance the overall narrative quality of the game and guide its stylistic direction.
- Communicate effectively with game designers and related teams via Discord or similar platforms.
- Create dialogues for visual scenes or quests based on provided designs, or craft other in-game texts based on supplied materials.
- Ensure the final product is free from grammar, punctuation, spelling mistakes, or inconsistencies.
- Assist the localization team in drafting localization style guides, NPC documents, lore bibles, etc.
- Assist with voiceover recording sessions to maximize character voice portrayal.
- Regularly report project status and progress to the Localization Lead.
¡ß Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in game lore writing and copy-editing, especially in the fantasy genre.
- Excellent narrative writing and analytical skills.
- Excellent grammar and extensive copy-editing skills.
- Proficiency in giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Experience collaborating with internal/external project members on visual scenes, dialogue, story pacing, and gameplay
- Experience in editing/writing AAA console/PC titles.
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
