GM Korea Company(GMK) is seeking to add an exceptional lawyer (put in Korean ¡°lawyer¡±) to a join the legal team in Bupyeong as Counsel – Manager / Â÷Àå with an experience in labor law.  The position will report to the Director of HR/LR Legal and will be located at GMK¡¯s offices in Bupyeong, Korea.
The working environment is international, collegial, and collaborative.  Working closely with both the GM Korea legal department and the GM global legal staff, you will have an opportunity to help shape the future and contribute to the long-term success of GM in Korea.  Compensation is competitive.

What You¡¯ll Do :

With passion to learn and practice law in the grand dynamics of GM operations in Korea, collaborating with other legal counsels at GMK, GM HQ, and elsewhere to proactively and strategically advise on a broad range of various labor and employment matters, including but not limited to labor dispute and litigation management (wage, work-related criminal, dispatch claims, and numerous labor cases), labor policy change management, on-site labor issues support, labor and employment regulations and disciplinary matters management, local labor commission-related work ensuring labor compliance, and labor union negotiation support, including collective bargaining agreements.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​ :

      law degree & bar admission (Korean Bar/Labor Attorney Bar);

      minimum of 3 years of private legal practice and/or in-house experience with an experience gained in the labor sector;

      business-minded, solution-oriented lawyer who can provide a top-down perspective while maintaining a sleeves-rolled-up willingness to take on a significant working role in the company;

      superior personal and professional integrity, excellent communication skills, strategic management team experience, humility and self-awareness;

      ability to take ownership and manage multiple large-scale projects to deliver results and past success forging collaborative relationships with business units in a fast-paced environment; and

      Korean and English language fluency (not mandatory but preferred)
