This position reports to

Finance Manager - Front Office

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide accounting, reporting, and consolidation expertise. Each day, you will support in accounting and reporting matters to business/reporting units through resolution of accounting and reporting questions, financial statement preparation and review follow-up on accounting issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting in the preparation of financial reports in compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.

This role is contributing to the Finance & Accounting Operations in Korea. Main stakeholders are local business divisions and country holding officer.
You will be mainly accountable for:
• Executing established accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with ABB group policies and local instructions.
• Applying accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions relevant to your area and level of expertise.
• Maintaining reporting procedures within the area of responsibility, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Performing quality checks on financial reporting data submitted by the units, including analytical review of major fluctuations, and liaising with internal and external auditors on accounting and reporting issues
• Conducting investigations and reconciliation of accounting transaction, as necessary, and facilitating the resolution of accounting and reporting issues.
• Managing relationships with business stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.
• Participating in initiatives and projects to continuously improve financial accounting and reporting processes and systems
• Performing Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) processes participating in internal control testing and prepares relevant documentation.

Qualifications for the role

• 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting field, working as accounting specialist with
• Sound knowledge of general accounting with US GAAP, K-GAAP and the manufacturing, engineering B2B market
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems and inventory management software, including SAP
• A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred, but optional)
• Multi-national company with manufacturing especially electric industry accounting experience is preferred
• External audit and tax filing support experience is preferred.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean
