Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for selling guest rooms, meeting space and other services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business, directly reporting to the Director of International Sales.

Duties also include preparing and presenting effective proposals, maintaining well organized documentation and reports and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate. The Sales Manager will also participate and may lead event meetings, sales and other staff meetings. The International Sales Manager also works as a team member in close contact with assigned support staff. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deeply understand the market opportunity across different geographies to create a robust International growth plan, using proactive approaches vs looking at preset templates for success
  • Strong understanding & experience in Japan or China and Asia markets will be an advantage
  • Captures international business from assigned market segments and/or geographic territory to surpass revenue expectations of team and individual revenue goals
  • Initiates and follows-up on assigned leads
  • Maintains and participates in active sales solicitation program
  • Monitors production of all top accounts and evaluates trends within assigned markets
  • Participates in key industry organizations and client events and attends assigned tradeshows
  • Invites customers for entertainment and site inspection purposes
  • Build up the individual business plan and sales strategy on a yearly basis and present it to the internal stakeholders
  • Review quarterly production goal and achievement with Director of International Sales to ensure the sales activities are in right direction, and set weekly/monthly/quarterly goal based on team¡¯s performance
  • Set the tracking method on own to measure the individual performance and area to improve
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence).
  • Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process
  • Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to verify the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
  • Interacts effectively with guests/clients, sales and kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associates, and other hotel departments in order to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in MICE sales
  • Proven track record of developing new & mass sales accounts
  • Strong consumer & industrial knowledge for MICE/Hospitality/Entertainment business
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent Chinese or Japanese will be a plus
