Plan all work orders for equipment, instrumentation, facilities, utilities, and grounds for efficient and effective maintenance. Ensure resources and materials are available when needed. Schedule maintenance plans. Ensure all work order activity is captured in the CMMS. Manage the closeout, reporting and review of work orders.
Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) supplies are a significant investment and one which is critical to the successful operation of our SJ production facility. The Material Planner will plan and coordinate all of the MRO supplies necessary to support the production operations at the plant. Ensure the timely flow of spare parts and other MRO supplies to the site.
In alignment with planning maintenance and operating materials supplies, inspecting materials upon receiving and keeping materials in the warehouse in proper order and safe manner are also the major responsibilities.
Compile identified work from safety, predictive, preventative, corrective, project and facilities requests into work orders to be planned and scheduled.
Develop plans in the CMMS and consolidate activity to minimize operational impact.
Collaborate with production planning to incorporate plans into production schedule
Determine Safety & Permitting requirements in planning maintenance activities.
Ensure that all required resources, parts, and materials are available prior to equipment shutdown. Collaborate with procurement and outside vendors as needed.
Identify trades or skills, materials, special tools or equipment, procedures and time required to perform the work.
Responsible for maintaining all plant equipment records in the CMMS.
Ensure all labor hours, materials, and necessary notes or job plan changes associated with the work are accurately recorded within CMMS.
Review and modify plans, procedure, material usage as needed.
Develop reporting of maintenance activity, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Metrics.
Monitor inventory levels of critical spare parts, consumables and non-consumable supplies in the CMMS to trigger replenishment when inventory levels reach a reorder point.
Maintain reorder point levels in the CMMS based on quantitative analysis of historical or projected usage, assessed risk, and risk tolerance levels developed with Product Management and the Operations team.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to identify spare part needs in support of planned maintenance events, and Operations to identify required consumable and non-consumable supplies.
Enter purchase requisitions for all spare parts or key MRO items based on demand triggers.
Maintain purchase orders with updated receipt dates based on latest status
Work with Procurement to coordinate inbound supply of MRO items and to manage supplier relationships
Put away critical spares received in the appropriate storage location
Work with internal and external partners to move obsolete/slow moving parts.
Maintain master data associated with MRO items
Develop and maintain procedures related to MRO material planning process
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in Engineering Technology or High School with 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience in chemical, heavy or high speed manufacturing industries.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrument equipment.
Understanding of PLC’s, Instrumentation, and electrical equipment
Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, eMaint, etc.).
Experience with MS Office, MS Project, and Google Workspace.
Ability in reading and understanding piping and instrumentation diagrams, technical documentation, and engineering bills of materials (EBOMS)
Preferred Qualifications:
TPM/RCM experience preferred.
Experience in chemicals industry
5S and Lean Manufacturing experience
3 years of maintenance planning experience
Experience in or supporting the electronics industry
Strong CMMS system experience
