Public Affairs (PA) Specialist

Develop and implement strategic public affairs plans and PR initiatives tailored to the region to enhance MDPI¡¯s presence, reputation, and influence.

- Engage with policymakers, academic institutions, research organizations, and industry leaders to advocate for policies that support open access, scientific research, and publishing.

- Monitor and analyze regional policy developments, media coverage and trends that could impact the OA landscape and   MDPI¡¯s business, providing strategic advice.

- Coordinate with the Global Public Affairs team to ensure alignment of regional strategies with overall global public affairs and reputation building goals.

- Organize, deliver presentations, and participate in conferences, workshops, and other events to raise awareness and support for MDPI's mission and services.

- Prepare communication materials, press releases, and presentations to effectively convey MDPI¡¯s views to stakeholders and   the public.

- Manage relationships with local and regional media to enhance MDPI¡¯s public profile and reputation. Support individual MDPI journals for the PR issues at the institutional level.

- Bachelor¡¯s degree in public relations, communications, political  science, or a related field. A master¡¯s degree is preferred

- At least 3 years of experience in public policy, public affairs, government relations, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit, academic, or publishing context.

- Strong understanding of the political and cultural environment  in Korea. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

- Proficiency in English.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple  projects simultaneously. Proactive, independent, and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

- Execute ad-hoc PR tasks assigned by the Global Public Affairs team and Representative Director, MDPI Korea.

- Must be a Korean citizen and fluent in Korean (native level).
