This position is part of the Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) organization.  SET is an organization that is innovative in manufacturing technology, materials and supply chain design.  In this position, you, as a supplier engineer play a vital role with surface treatment suppliers.  You will have the opportunity to work across organization functions to resolve technical, quality and production challenges, as well as opportunity to develop excellence in product design and manufacturing at mainly surface treatment supply chain.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.

What You’ll Do

• Work with Lam Product Group Engineering organizations in development and release of mainly surface treatment process and product to suppliers
• Coordinate and support investigation of key quality defects of components from the customers and/or field service team to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement 
• Drive the improvement of the suppliers’ quality and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time-delivery
• Audit and document supply base performance on critical process of records and overall quality management systems
• Collaborate on the continuous development of supply base through close teamwork with product management, global product group, and supplier business managers
• Leads, and is personally accountable for, high profile project timelines and milestones.
• Continuously working on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods
• Perform Standardized Supplier Quality Audits and administer Supplier Quality Scorecard for existing suppliers to promote continuous improvement.
• Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis on QDRs and Escalations

Who We’re Looking For

• Solid understanding of surface treatment process (Precision cleaning, Anodizing) and statistical process control in semiconductor industry
• Creative thinking, strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities including experience in the areas of surface treatment engineering
• In-depth understanding of equipment and component manufacturing processes
• Experience in supplier process development & quality management
• International & domestic travelling
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, material or related engineering from accredited university a must
• Advanced degree (including Ph.D. or Master) in chemical, material, or related engineering from accredited University preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding of Quality Management System assessment and maintenance
• Familiar with various problem-solving methodologies, 8D/5 Whys/Fishbone/logic tree
• Project Management / Team Lead experience
• At least around 6 years of working experience in the Semiconductor related Industry in mainly quality or R&D department
• Experience in working with global suppliers/customers
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Korean and English
• Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
