Job description:

• The candidate will work directly with the communication team to support the achievement of results in the relevant sectors and Embassy business outcomes.
• The candidate will help the Embassy build links with influencers and stakeholders as well as support the Ambassador and other members of the senior team with media.
• The Candidate will continually monitor local media reporting on areas of interest to Malaysia through timely and succinct.
• Proactively engage with the appropriate Embassy teams on their communication priorities.
• Communications planning (analyzing media options) and developing a strategic approach for key activities, such as announcements, visits, and events.
• Developing and maintaining core scripts and lines to take for the Ambassador and Malaysian representatives to use publically in the Republic of Korea context on topics of relevance.
• Interpret during sensitive discussions/meetings.
• Provide interpretation and translation services (both verbal and written) during day-to-day activities.
• Supporting the management and maintenance of social media platforms, ensuring consistent and active engagement with followers.
• Arrange meetings as instructed by the Head of Mission/Diplomat.
• Any other duties assigned and directed by the Head of Mission/Diplomats.


Skilled and Ability :

• At least 2 years of working experience in a communication environment.
• Experience and knowledge of the Republic of Korea media sector.
• Experience working in an international setting.
• Proven ability to work independently and think creatively.
• Fluent English/Korean. (writing/listening)
• Proactive and excellent customer service.
• Good interpersonal skills, high standard of work ethics
• Proficiency in content creation tools and software, including graphic design and video editing software.
• A good self-manager
• Ability to work in a team and to cope with stress.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Ability to set priorities.
• Ability to work multi-task

Education Requirement

• Minimum Degree
• Relevant work experience in a communication work environment.
• Familiarity with Malaysian culture.

We offer :

• This position is subject to a 3-month contract.
• Working hours: working hours are 35 hours a week, from 09.00 – 17.00. When official events, visits, and meetings are being held outside of these hours, flexibility by the employee will be required.
• Illness provision: if you are unable to attend for duty due to illness, you should immediately notify your line manager at the Embassy of Malaysia. All sick leave requires certification by a medical practitioner.
• Confidentiality: all information which comes to your attention or is disclosed to you in the course of your work at the Embassy of Malaysia is to be regarded as confidential. The disclosure of such information to a third party will be cause for immediate dismissal.
