Position Title: Medical Social Worker-Special Needs Coordinator (SNC) Location: 8th Medical Group, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea Work Type: Full-time contract (1912 hours/year) Contract Duration: 1-year base period with 4 option years (Total: up to 5 years) Start Date: 13 July 2025 (subject to contract award) Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Medical Social Worker ? Special Needs Coordinator (SNC) to join our team supporting the U.S. Air Force¡¯s 8th Medical Group at Kunsan Air Base. The SNC is responsible for managing the Exceptional Family Member Program?Medical (EFMP-M), coordinating with multidisciplinary agencies, and advocating for military families with special medical or educational needs. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the EFMP-M Manager IAW DoD and USAF policy. Conduct assessments and maintain current Q-coded EFMP data for all eligible Air Force sponsors. Provide community outreach and education related to special needs support. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized service plans. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and MTF regulations. Minimum Qualifications: Master¡¯s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university. Unrestricted license to practice clinical social work in the U.S. Minimum 2 years¡¯ experience working with families with special needs or in EFMP-related settings. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association. Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in Korean preferred but not required. Health & Security Requirements: Pre-employment physical exam and immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, etc.). Annual medical exam and TB screening. Must pass FBI fingerprint and criminal background check (DoDI 1402.5). Must obtain favorable NACI clearance prior to or shortly after start date. Must comply with 8th MDG and U.S. Forces Korea SOFA protocols. |
