The ALAM Investments Controller supports the ALAM Operations Controller in managing investments and project prioritization processes to achieve overall investment and operational goals, in alignment with Air Liquide’s Investment Control and Capital Execution policies. This position controls and ensures the quality of the investment presentation and reporting processes within ALAM. It manages the global investment portfolios for capital expenditures, produces timely and accurate investment management reports, forecasts, and related analytical reports. The role provides analysis, reporting and advice to support global investment decision making by our senior and functional management.

Reporting to the ALAM Operations Control Director, this position works closely with the General Managers of ALAM Country Operations, ALAM Functional management, InnoTech Finance and Group Finance.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

• Lead investment process in compliance with Air Liquide corporate governance and blue book guidelines.
• In collaboration with product management, country GMs and other relevant stakeholders, develop investment thesis for capital projects
• Manage capital planning and budgeting processes for Normal Capital projects (i.e. those to sustain current operations) and Special Capital projects (i.e. those to grow operations, or exceptional undertakings such as ERP deployments).
• Support senior management with ad hoc analysis, financial evaluations, strategy and other topics
• Create templates and financial models to support investment decisions.  
• Support the ALAM normal capital prioritization process, managing tradeoffs between projects.
• Work with product managers, project managers, engineering and other functional stakeholders to identify project scope / cost tradeoffs to optimize individual investments.  
• Partner with engineering project management teams to re-prioritize resources across project portfolios when conditions change.
• Organize and execute post implementation reviews of capital projects to capitalize on lessons learned and ensure evaluation of actual vs expected performance.
• Create standard financial tools to support scenario analysis, and investment processes
• Manage direct reports, including interns, as assigned
• Successfully complete all assigned trainings

Are you a MATCH?

• Degree in engineering or chemistry with strong financial modeling skills, or MBA degree in combination with strong technical acumen, training or prior experience. 
• 3 years+ related experience; experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated analytical skills, problem-solving and quantitative skills with a solid background in financial modeling, including cost of ownership modeling, and capital investment justification
• Experience with complex data processing and analysis projects, Power BI and SAP S/4 HANA experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate across organizational and cultural boundaries.
• Excellent organizational and resource management skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management/organization
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to travel up to 25%
