🗨️ About the Position
We are seeking a passionate Medical Director of Pathology for our Oncology Group to lead the research and development of groundbreaking AI-powered oncology solutions. This role will oversee clinical research activities and play a crucial role in developing AI models and biomarker algorithms. The position is based in Seoul, Korea.

🚩 Roles & Responsibilities
Guide AI model development and validation
Define well curated and structured ground truth and provide expert annotations to support the training and validation of pathology-based AI models
Evaluate model performance based on histopathological standards and propose improvement strategies reflecting real-world diagnostic practice
Integrate medical expertise into product development
Ensure clinical and pathological validity in biomarker product design by aligning model outputs with diagnostic workflows
Bridge communication between pathology, engineering, and business development teams to guide AI feature development and usage
Lead pathology-driven clinical research
Design and oversee clinical studies using AI-based pathology models, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and relevance to cancer biology
Represent the pathology function in external research collaborations and contribute to publications and major conference presentations
Contribute to strategic and scientific leadership
Analyze digital pathology and oncology trends to inform R&D and partnership strategy
Identify and evaluate scientific and clinical opportunities for collaboration with pharma, diagnostics, and academic partners
Requirements
🎯 Qualifications
Pathology board-certified MD
Experience in clinical data analysis using R, Python or other languages
Proven track record of successfully conducting medical researches
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts and clinical data to diverse audiences
Strong strategic and analytical skills, with demonstrated success in conducting medical researches
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Able to communicate professionally in English (over 15% of Lunitians are not native Korean speakers, including many senior memberships and leadership positions)
Flexibility to collaborate closely with international colleagues in different time zones
🏅 Preferred Experiences
Pathology fellowship training, and/or more than 2 years of post-board certification experience
Experience in leading at least 1 clinical research project as a lead role
Major authorships of medical papers
Deep understanding of statistics and clinical data analysis
Direct experience in AI model development in medical field
Knowledge of biomarkers, companion diagnostics, or immuno-oncology
Strong communication skills in English
