What will you do as Project Support Purchasing?
The key success factor of an innovation is to be deployed at scale and adopted by a maximum number of customers in a sustainable way. To do so, it is thus of utmost importance to create a strong connection in between the Advanced Engineering and Industrialization phases. In this context, we are looking for a person capable to drive suppliers/partners in project mode and support New Product Developments with the support of the responsible Global Commodity Mangers for the Volvo Equipment Changwon and Shanghai plants.
Main tasks/responsibilities Lead and be responsible for Purchasing related activities within New Product Development projects Be the main interface to suppliers and Volvo CE engineers during the project Phase Organize and support the Commodity Managers with recurrent commercial meetings with suppliers to secure their understanding of Volvo CE requirements in terms of Quality, Operations, Logistics, etc. In coordination with Supplier Development Engineers, secure suppliers¡¯ readiness towards a mature industrialization (PPAP, APQP) Organize and support the Commodity Managers with driving Project Steering Committee meetings Follow-up design changes (ECN) during the Project, and support with negotiating with suppliers potential deviations in terms of QDCF Give inputs and support Commodity Managers in the preparation of annual Business Review Meetings (Supplier Performance in Project Phase) Give inputs and contribute in the definition of Sub-Commodities strategies in collaboration with Commodity Managers Collaborate with buyers and gather all Product Platforms¡¯ needs in terms of prototypes, and support or be ready to place corresponding Purchase Orders for all sites where the New Product is introduced. In some cases, responsible for launching RFQ¡¯s in collaboration with Commodity Managers Collaborate with Project Managers Purchasing in other regions where the same project is introduced.
