JOB PURPOSE
To engage and build strong, credible, and long-term scientific partnerships with key external medical experts across GSK¡¯s Hepatology portfolio by delivering high-quality, in-depth, and tailored scientific engagements. The Hepatology MSL serves as a field-based scientific expert and a primary medical point of contact for external stakeholders, providing non-promotional, evidence-based medical information. This role supports the safe and effective use of GSK medicines by implementing aligned medical strategies, generating actionable insights, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration in the field of liver diseases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic External Engagement
• Serve as the primary field-based scientific expert representing GSK Medical and Hepatology medical strategies.
• Deliver consistent, high-quality, and non-promotional scientific exchanges with External Experts (EEs) across the Hepatology portfolio.
• Identify, prioritize, and develop engagement plans with targeted EEs based on medical strategy, local insights, and key external expert (KEE) strategy.
• Maintain structured engagement history and evaluate interaction impact in alignment with medical objectives.
• Ensure all external interactions are conducted in compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and global governance standards.
Medical Activities & Evidence Generation
• Execute key medical activities including medical education programs, scientific advisory boards, and congress related scientific engagements in alignment with medical strategies.
• Take operational ownership of assigned medical projects in close collaboration with Medical Leads.
• Support evidence generation activities, including investigator-initiated research and assist with preparation and submission of scientific publications and congress presentations.
KEE Development
• Support the development and execution of individualized KEE engagement and development plans.
• Facilitate appropriate speaker development and scientific contribution of EEs to medical activities.
• Contribute to long-term KEE capability building through strategic engagement across various medical projects.
Internal Collaboration & Insight Sharing
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional internal stakeholders including Medical Leads, Commercial, and other relevant teams while maintaining medical governance principles.
• Capture, synthesize, and provide structured and timely medical insights to inform local medical strategy and above-country priorities.
• Actively participate in internal medical meetings, training sessions, and medical planning cycles.
REQUIREMENTS
• Tertiary qualification in life sciences or healthcare-related discipline (e.g. medicine, pharmacy, nursing, biology, or clinical sciences) preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related customer-facing scientific role, with demonstrated ability to engage, build, and maintain trusted relationships with external experts (EEs)
• Previous experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison, Clinical Research, or similar scientific roles is strongly preferred.
• Strong ability to apply, interpret, and leverage scientific and medical knowledge to support high-quality scientific exchange and evidence-based medical discussions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor scientific content to diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capability to work independently in a field-based role while effectively collaborating with cross functional internal teams.
• High ethical standards with strong understanding of medical compliance and governance requirements.
