What we need:
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Senior Facility Engineer is accountable for the operations, maintenance, planning, and documentation of Data Center (DC) operating procedures and associated mission-critical infrastructure. This role ensures the most efficient and maximum utilization of facilities, equipment, and operational resources.
As a key member of the Operations Team, the Senior Facility Engineer supports the maintenance of critical facilities and manages all vendor activities to ensure 100% facility availability. This position ensures effective oversight of facility uptime, achieves the lowest possible PUE, manages all contractor activities, and maintains fiscal responsibility for projects and required maintenance practices.
Location: Incheon, South Korea
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the shift team to ensure 24/7 uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure; provide technical and experiential guidance to Facility Engineers during shifts.
- Infrastructure Excellence: Maintain all critical systems (Electrical, Cooling, Fire Protection, and BMS) in strict accordance with manufacturer recommendations and corporate standards.
- Maintenance & Construction Oversight: Supervise all operational maintenance and renewal construction projects, ensuring vendor performance meets facility standards.
- Critical System Management: Manage the scheduling and execution of routine maintenance and emergency services for all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), security, and fire systems.
- Operational Documentation: Establish and standardize core operational documents, including SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), MOP (Method of Procedure), and EOP (Emergency Operating Procedure).
- Emergency Response & Efficiency: Provide on-call emergency support to guarantee 100% system availability while driving electrical efficiency and achieving the lowest possible PUE.
- Policy Development: Define and set up comprehensive maintenance and monitoring policies for all MEP systems.
- Automation & Optimization: Interface with BMS and other automated tools to continuously improve operational efficiency and energy consumption.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage strategic vendor relationships to ensure high-quality building repairs and maintenance.
- Global Collaboration: Liaise with the global team to adapt and implement global initiatives, processes, and procedures within the Korea local context.
- Customer & Technical Support: Partner directly with customers and support staff to perform root cause analysis (RCA) and resolve complex technical issues.
- Actively champion and implement the organization¡¯s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in 24x7 mission-critical data center facility management.
- Technical Leadership: Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting, incident response, and complex facility inspections.
- Mentorship: Ability to provide technical and experiential guidance to Facility Engineers during shift work.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Extensive operational knowledge of electrical systems (Switchgear, UPS, STS, Generators), cooling systems, and BMS/Fire Protection systems.
- Project & Vendor Management: Strong skills in managing third-party vendors and overseeing infrastructure projects.
- Qualifications: Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering. Professional certification (Electrical, Mechanical, or Fire) is highly preferred.
- Communication: Effective English communication (Speak/Write) and the ability to interact professionally with internal/external customers.
- Sectors: Experience or interest in telecommunications and digital infrastructure is beneficial.
