Job Description: Onsite SME
seeking a highly experienced local Subject Matter Expert (SME) based in Korea to act as a critical bridge between the client stakeholders and offshore teams. The SME will leverage deep domain expertise in refining/ downstream operations to translate client requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for solution development. SME will be responsible to drive output from cross- functional teams and present outcomes to the client.
- Serve as the primary on-ground liaison with refinery stakeholders-Lead workshops, requirement discussions, and solution walkthroughs
- Coordinate closely with offshore teams for requirement clarification, issue resolution, and delivery tracking
- Drive end-to-end execution and ensure timely, high-quality outputs from cross-functional teams
- Review solution outputs and ensure alignment with customer expectations
- Support UAT, and validation activities, ensuring smooth customer walkthroughs and timely signoffs
- Proactively track requirements, risks, and dependencies, and ensure timely resolution and communication
- Identify scope changes, gaps, and improvement opportunities, and support discussions with client for alignment
- Ensure comprehensive documentation, structured communication, and systematic tracking of follow-ups across onsite and offshore teams
- Bachelor¡¯s / master¡¯s degree in chemical engineering/ petroleum engineering, or related field
- 10–15+ years of experience in refinery operations, process engineering, energy management or energy optimization programs
- Strong understanding of refinery processes and digital/analytics applications in refining
- Proven experience in client-facing roles and stakeholder management
- Fluency in Korean and English.
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Industry 4.0 / Digital transformation/ Energy management/ Energy optimization solutions
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven optimization or digital transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of energy and emissions KPIs (EII, EFOBD, GHG)
