Your Opportunity
As the In Country Representative, Republic of Korea, you will:
- Support TAFE Queensland¡¯s international education, training and partnership objectives within Republic of Korea.
- Be based in Seoul, co-located within the Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) office, the role is responsible for implementing market engagement activities, developing in-market relationships, identifying and supporting partnership opportunities, and contributing to international student recruitment outcomes for TAFE Queensland.
This position reports to the Principal Global Engagement Advisor, located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, for a period of 2 years, unless otherwise determined.
The Total Remuneration Package (TRP) for this role is KRW 67,272,073 per annum.
Please note the successful applicant will be employed by Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) and will perform work for TAFE Queensland, which will manage all day to day and supervisory aspects of the role under an established Mobility Arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Representing TAFE Queensland in the market with key stakeholders including Trade and Investment Queensland, Austrade, education institutions, industry partners, education agents and government bodies within Republic of Korea.
- Supporting the identification and development of offshore education and training partnership opportunities aligned to TAFE Queensland priorities, in accordance with KPIs.
- Building, maintaining and strengthening professional relationships with existing and prospective partners to support commercial outcomes.
- Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of TAFE Queensland products and services to effectively respond to enquiries and promote suitable solutions to offshore stakeholders.
- Providing market specific insights and observations to inform planning, opportunity development and decision making.
- Representing TAFE Queensland in the market at international student recruitment events, including virtual and face to face education fairs, school visits and information sessions, as required.
- Maintaining productive working relationships with approved international education agents operating in the market, providing guidance on TAFE Queensland products, entry requirements and processes to support lead generation and conversion, in accordance with KPIs.
- Supporting recruitment initiatives aligned to agreed market priorities and KPIs including engaging with prospective international students to provide information and generate recruitment leads for Queensland based processing teams.
- Working collaboratively with TAFE Queensland International Education teams to coordinate activities in the market and provide content and local insights to support marketing and communications.
- Capturing and maintaining accurate records of leads, partner interactions and opportunities in approved systems, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Preparing post event, travel or activity reports as required.
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Proven experience representing an organisation with external stakeholders, including education institutions, agents, industry or government.
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships in an international or cross cultural environment.
- Experience supporting business development, partnership engagement or international education activities within the market region.
- Understanding of the Australian Vocational Education and Training system, and the ability to communicate these to prospective partners and clients.
- Demonstrated experience participating in international student recruitment activities or related promotional events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear advice, prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently in an offshore environment while collaborating effectively with Australia based teams.
- Sound organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities and competing priorities.
Mandatory Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for this opportunity, you must have:
- Work Authorisation: To be eligible for employment you must be legally authorised to live and work in Republic of Korea for the duration of the appointment and provide evidence to support your eligibility.
- Language: The successful candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English and have, at a minimum, business level Korean language.
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be willing to undertake a screening check and be confirmed as a suitable person to access TAFE Queensland resources prior to commencing in the role.
